Question 1

What is an AI receptionist?

Accepted Answer

An AI receptionist is software that answers your business phone like a trained front-desk employee. SkipCalls picks up every call 24/7, answers questions about your business, books appointments, takes messages, transfers urgent callers to you, and texts you a summary of each call.

Question 2

What's the difference between an AI answering service and a virtual receptionist?

Accepted Answer

A traditional virtual receptionist or answering service uses remote human operators billed per minute or per call. An AI answering service like SkipCalls answers instantly with no hold time, works 24/7 with unlimited minutes, and costs a flat monthly price — a fraction of a human virtual receptionist.

Question 3

What's the best AI receptionist for small business?

Accepted Answer

The best AI receptionist for a small business answers on your existing number, sounds natural, books jobs into your calendar, transfers urgent calls, and blocks spam at a flat price. SkipCalls does all of that and is built for contractors, home services, and other small businesses that run on calls.

Question 4

Does SkipCalls really sound like a real person?

Accepted Answer

Yes. SkipCalls uses advanced AI voice technology, including voice cloning, so it can even sound like you. Unlike other "robotic" call answering services, your AI receptionist speaks naturally and makes customers feel like they're talking to a real assistant.

Question 5

What happens if the AI can't answer a question?

Accepted Answer

If a caller asks something outside of your setup, SkipCalls politely explains that you'll get back to them. You instantly receive a notification so you can follow up directly. This way, no lead is ever lost.

Question 6

How long does setup take?

Accepted Answer

Setup takes less than 5 minutes. Just forward your calls, choose your greeting, and SkipCalls is live. No extra hardware, no complicated training, and no IT required.

Question 7

Can I customize what the AI says?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can customize greetings, scripts, FAQs, and even the way your AI receptionist responds. SkipCalls adapts to your business — whether you're a handyman, electrician, plumber, real estate agent, or any small business owner.

Question 8

What if I want to take a call myself?

Accepted Answer

You're always in control. SkipCalls only answers when you can't. If you want to pick up a call directly, you can — and your customers won't notice any difference.

Question 9

How much does SkipCalls cost?

Accepted Answer

SkipCalls is just $29.99/month — less than a single missed call costs your business. Or save 30% with our annual plan at $249.99/year. One captured client call can pay for months of service. Our customers typically recover $500–$5,000 every month by avoiding missed calls.

Question 10

Will my customers know it's an AI?

Accepted Answer

No. SkipCalls is designed to sound natural and professional. With voice cloning, it can even speak in your own voice, so customers never realize it's an AI.

Question 11

What industries is SkipCalls best for?

Accepted Answer

SkipCalls is built for contractors, electricians, plumbers, handymen, real estate agents, and other service-based small businesses. If missed client calls cost you jobs or revenue, SkipCalls can help.

Question 12

Does SkipCalls filter spam calls?

Accepted Answer

Yes. SkipCalls automatically detects robocalls, spam, and telemarketers, so you only spend time on real customers.

Question 13

Can SkipCalls book jobs directly in my calendar?

Accepted Answer

Yes. SkipCalls integrates with your calendar to schedule estimates and appointments automatically. Every booked job is saved with customer details, so you stay organized without extra effort.

Question 14

Is SkipCalls available 24/7?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your AI receptionist answers calls nights, weekends, and during emergencies. No matter when clients call, you'll never miss a lead.

Question 15

Is SkipCalls cheaper than hiring a receptionist?

Accepted Answer

Yes. SkipCalls costs far less than a part-time receptionist and works 24/7, with unlimited minutes on one flat plan.
