Call Forwarding Guide

How to Forward Calls from Tello Mobile

If you use Tello Mobile, you can forward incoming calls to SkipCalls so an AI answering service can pick up for you 24/7. Call forwarding is useful when you’re busy, out of coverage, or want every call answered consistently. Setup typically takes under 5 minutes once you have your SkipCalls forwarding number ready.

Forwarding Codes

Open your phone's dialer, enter the activation code, and press Call. Replace your SkipCalls number with the number from your SkipCalls app.

Troubleshooting

  • •Confirm your Tello line is active and can place/receive calls—call forwarding won’t work reliably if your plan is suspended, your SIM/eSIM isn’t provisioned, or your device isn’t registered on the network.
  • •Check whether you’re trying to forward from the Tello number itself (cellular voice) versus a third‑party calling app; call forwarding codes only apply to your carrier voice line.
  • •If forwarding codes don’t work, temporarily disable Wi‑Fi Calling and retry; some devices behave differently when Wi‑Fi Calling is toggled on during network feature changes.
  • •Make sure you’re entering the destination number exactly as provided by SkipCalls (including the full 10-digit U.S. number). A missing digit or extra prefixes can cause immediate failure or misrouting.
  • •If calls still ring your phone instead of forwarding, restart the phone and re-apply forwarding. Network feature updates on MVNOs like Tello can take a moment to refresh after changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Tello Mobile support call forwarding to SkipCalls?
In most cases, yes—Tello Mobile supports standard carrier call forwarding to U.S. numbers, which lets you route calls to your SkipCalls number. Availability can vary by device and account status, so test with a quick call after enabling it.
Will call forwarding from Tello Mobile cost extra?
Call forwarding may use plan minutes or be treated like a regular outbound call by the underlying network. Any charges depend on your Tello plan and settings, so check your account details and test with a short call.
Can I forward only when I’m busy or don’t answer?
Yes, most phones and networks allow conditional call forwarding (forward on busy, no answer, or unreachable). If your device doesn’t expose these options in settings, you may need to use dial codes to enable the specific forwarding type.
Will call forwarding work if my Tello phone has no signal?
Conditional forwarding set to “unreachable” can still route calls when your phone is off or out of coverage, because the network forwards the call before it reaches your device. If forwarding isn’t already enabled, you typically can’t turn it on while disconnected.
How do I turn off call forwarding and restore normal ringing?
You can disable call forwarding in your phone’s call settings (Phone app settings) or by using the carrier deactivation dial code on your Tello line. After turning it off, place a test call to confirm your phone rings normally again.
