What after-hours calls photographers actually get (and the exact phrases to listen for)
Most after-hours calls fall into two buckets: (1) new inquiries who are shopping fast, and (2) existing clients with time-sensitive changes. Wedding and event clients often call after work (6–10pm) because that’s when both partners are free to decide, and they expect quick answers—especially during wedding season and holiday card season.
Common inquiry calls sound like: “Are you available on June 14th?”, “What’s your starting price for wedding photography?”, “Do you travel to [venue name]?”, “Can you send a quote tonight?”, “We need engagement photos this weekend.” Portrait and headshot calls often say: “We need headshots for 12 people next week,” “Do you have a studio or do you come on-site?”, or “Can you do a rush turnaround by Monday?”
