1) Pick the right phone number (so storm calls don’t slip through)
For roofing, your phone number is your “first response” system after hail and heavy rain. Homeowners call fast and they call multiple companies. If you answer first, you often win the whole block. If you miss it, they move on.
Start with one main business number that never changes. Don’t use your personal cell as the public number—when your phone breaks on a job or you switch carriers, your Google listing and yard signs become wrong overnight. A stable number also helps with reviews because customers can always reach the same place.
What type of number should you choose?
- Local number (recommended): builds trust for “roof leak near me,” “hail damage in [city],” and neighbors calling from the same area code.
