Client Retention Call Scripts for DJs
Client retention for DJs is mostly about timing: couples and planners decide fast, dates lock in fast, and the DJ who responds clearly wins. These scripts help you stay top-of-mind after a gig, turn “great night!” into reviews and referrals, and bring lapsed clients back before they book someone else for the next event.
Post-Event Check-In (Wedding Reception)
Use 24–48 hours after a wedding to lock in a review, fix any small issues, and set up referrals.
“Hey [Name], it’s [Your Name], your DJ from Saturday at [Venue]. I just wanted to check in—how did you feel about the flow of the night: intros, first dance, and open dancing? Was the sound level comfortable for you and the venue? If there’s anything you wish went differently—timeline, song choices, mic volume—tell me now and I’ll make it right. If you loved it, would you be open to leaving a quick review on Google or The Knot? I can text you the link, and it usually takes two minutes.”
Tips for this scenario
- -Ask one specific question about their night (intro timing, mic volume, or dance-floor energy) so they don’t just say “It was great.”
- -Mention the venue by name—couples remember vendors who remember details.
- -If they hesitate on a review, offer a simple prompt: “One sentence about how the dance floor felt + one sentence about communication.”
