No-Show Follow-Up Templates for Notaries
No-shows hit notaries harder than most trades because you’ve already blocked time, driven out, and sometimes printed a full loan package. When you’re in a signing, on the road, or in a hospital lobby, you can’t chase people down—and the next caller will book the notary who answers first. Use these templates to recover the appointment, protect your travel time, and reduce repeat no-shows without sounding harsh.
Same-Day No-Show Call (Mobile Notary / General Notarization)
Use 5–10 minutes after the scheduled time if the signer hasn’t arrived or isn’t answering texts.
“Hi, this is [Your Name], the mobile notary. We had you scheduled for [time] at [location]. I’m here now and I want to make sure you’re okay. Are you still able to meet today, or do we need to reschedule? If you’re running late, tell me your ETA and I can hold up to [10/15] minutes. After that I’ll need to move to my next appointment.”
Tips for this scenario
- -Say the appointment time and location out loud—people often confuse addresses or think it was “later.”
- -Give a clear hold window (10–15 minutes) so you don’t lose your whole day.
- -If this is a hospital or jail visit, add: “I know reception can be slow—text me the room/unit if you can.”
